Experiences from taking the Canadian amateur radio operator exam.

Hangying

Very good, impressive.

BA4OO

Could you please clarify: Besides the monitoring fees, are there any costs associated with administering and issuing the license? Am I currently authorized to act as a monitor?

VA3-BI4LPZ

BA4OO Everything except the supervision fee is free.
However, I am not currently qualified to supervise exams. To be able to supervise, I would need to have a high-level certification and a Morse code certificate, and also submit an application through the government website.

BA4OO

VA3-BI4LPZ Thank you for your reply. Also, I was wondering if you could possibly ask the proctor to...😜

BI1JNP

Thank you for your valuable experience.

BH6RYV

I'm so envious of how quickly they were able to obtain their licenses and set up their operations.

BH7JUO

Thank you for sharing. Although I probably won't be able to go to Canada, I have learned a lot.

BI6LVP

You can also apply to CRAC for permission to host foreign visitors; haha.

BI7KHL

Canadian wireless devices seem to be quite expensive; even the cheapest ones with Canadian certification, like the BaoFeng UV-5R, cost around $50 CAD.

VA3-BI4LPZ

BI7KHL Here's how it works (…). However, things are pretty relaxed here, and there's no need to register. So I just used the UV5RH I brought from China.

xiang_xin

What are you doing? This isn't... oh, this isn't China either, so it's fine.

VA3-BI4LPZ

xiang_xin Yes, it works both online and offline. However, this certificate and the FCC certification are interchangeable (and I don't have an address in Guam).

BG5CZD

Is it possible to take the exam online, like the FCC does?
Once FCC certification is complete, proceed to VEn/Kxxxxxx (x)

BG5CYY

VA3-BI4LPZ The address for Ame can be used with the forwarding warehouse's address.
If online exams are possible, can I use your address to take the exam?
