I've seen some friends mention needing to provide their own postage for paper QSL cards, but I haven't actually tried it myself. Also, the related terms are difficult to find specific meanings for. Could a knowledgeable person explain?

Is a stamp considered postage within China?
I saw pre-paid postage envelopes where the postage was already printed on them. Can I use my own envelope, add a stamp, and write my return address to create my own prepaid envelope?
I also noticed that some friends only used envelopes, without mentioning postage or a postage stamp. Are these envelopes meant to replace postage stamps?

For international mail, domestic postage cannot be used, so the only option would be return coupons, right?

I haven't been chasing cards for a long time. When I last chased DX cards, it required considerable effort and attention, especially when targeting rare stations.
In addition to the card, I also included a blank envelope with 2-3 green postcards inside. One of the postcards had both English and Chinese addresses on it, and sometimes I would include a local postcard or stamp with a special design, as well as tickets for local attractions or small promotional leaflets, all in an effort to encourage the recipient to reply.
