FST4W does not have a host transmitter; SDR receives and decodes normally (using a dummy load, distance of 2 meters).
The advantage of using low frequencies is that you don't need a dedicated RF load; any large-power resistor can achieve very low impedance. The antenna might handle it, but there's no guarantee (…). Also, the transmitting activity might be affected.
