Due to well-known reasons, in Zhejiang, only devices with a "V" band certification are allowed on the license, and there are very few people using other frequencies. This led me to consider using MMDVM, but the cheap DMRS like BaoFeng DM5R only have "U" band certification. When I looked at how it was done in Zhejiang, I realized that the "certification" section could be filled out with modifications.
I'd like to ask if this is a homemade, modified and assembled ham radio. Does it require certification? And can I modify it and then use it with the DM5R (since the DM5R can use the V-band)?
