This morning, at 6:10 AM, the ISS passed overhead. I used a Yagi-Uda antenna (specifically, the "V-segment, unit 5") on the fifth floor to receive the signal and recorded it using my Yaesu FT5DR handheld radio. Then, I transferred the audio to my computer and decoded it using MMSSTV. I received two images: The first image was taken from a low angle, and I started transmitting while receiving the signal; however, the decoding quality wasn't ideal. The second image was taken from a higher angle, with better reception quality. In summary, I can listen normally using my handheld radio in FM mode. Ideally, a radio should have built-in recording functionality for computer decoding. Using the radio's speaker to play and then recording with my phone is likely to result in lower quality. My phone app doesn't have a "tracking" function; it only displays the ISS transit path. I need to manually adjust the antenna based on visual cues. You could try using another app for this purpose.
