掌握经验公式，1/4倍的工作频段波长乘以0.9即为大概拉杆拉伸的长度。这里工作频率波长就是平常经常说的40/20/10之类的大概数字就可以不用很精确，拉好之后发射一下看电台驻波差多少，一般不会差很多，然后简单调两三次即可。无需驻波表和天分。

Would this mean that if I extend them all, I wouldn't be able to receive any signals from a particular band?

Use the experience formula: (1/4) * working frequency band wavelength multiplied by 0.9 will give you an approximate length for the pull-out.
Here, the working frequency wavelength is simply the approximate numbers like 40/20/10, which don't need to be very precise. After tuning, transmit a signal and check the SWR (Standing Wave Ratio). It usually won't be too high. Then, just adjust it a few times. No need for an SWR meter or antenna tuner.
