The firmware version is 1.01.02.0010. If the wrong firmware is flashed, it cannot be reverted to the aviation frequency band and manual input is not possible. After entering, it directly goes to 137.000.

It's amazing that we can do this. I should have bought the older chip machine instead.

The aviation frequency can only be set manually, and the writing software does not support it because it is unclear which chip it uses (I also don't know which one I have now). When I saw 1.01.03.0005, I thought there was a new firmware version, so after flashing, simulating reception became problematic. After reverting to 1.01.02, the aviation frequency no longer requires manual setting. This is frustrating. Some domestic brands' writing software and firmware are also unavailable for download from their official websites. It's unclear why they hide this information, which is not friendly to enthusiasts at all.

BG2VWO I only found out that this device comes in two chip versions when I asked customer service. The 1846 version should be cheaper, so it's essentially a downgrade. I assume you have the 6818 version. It is quite strange that the manufacturer didn't mention that this device supports aviation. I also don't know if they originally planned to offer a lower-priced version or if they changed their marketing materials later on.
By the way, did you manage to add the radio ID? I'm having trouble with it regardless of whether I use UTF-8 or ANSI encoding; on my machine, Chinese characters always appear as gibberish. It's really frustrating.
