However, modifying existing products raises the issue of prohibiting the use of self-developed testing equipment on those products. Furthermore, high-frequency signals are prone to attenuation, which requires ham radio operators to have sufficient density and a willingness to participate.
Secondly, if we can't achieve high speeds like above, then what practical use would a low-speed IP network have today? Early BBS systems implemented with telnet/SSH are almost extinct; even web browsing isn't fast enough. After much consideration, email remains the most viable option.
