Installation Environment: The antenna is mounted on the slope near the tiger window, and now 6 x 2-meter and 2 x 5-meter galvanized woven straps are used as ground wires. The problems encountered were that the center frequency would fluctuate up and down depending on whether it was raining or sunny, especially after heavy rain, the 14 MHz center frequency would drop to around 13.6-13.8, making it completely unusable. Improvement measures: 1. I purchased a 30cm x 5m copper mesh and would like to know if it can be used as a ground cover, laid flat on a slope, and then connected with a roughly 1-meter long woven strap. 2. We have 5 x 5-meter, 1.5 square meter soft lines ready. Would it be feasible to use them as a ground cable by running them vertically down the existing drainage pipe?
BI1JNP For your rooftop environment, I recommend that you simply replace the existing grounding wire with a new one. There are many models that come with built-in ground wires, so you don't need to lay down any additional soft ground wire.

BG2FZR You should be familiar with the IDE cable for your computer. You can buy two 5-meter, 16-pin IDE cables and connect them yourself to a copper connector or your own interface. If you have two 16-pin cables, you can separate them into four individual wires. If you have one 16-pin cable, you can separate it into eight individual wires. You can also use eight 4-pin cables, which would give you 32 ground wires. This setup should be sufficient for most scenarios. It is a cost-effective option for large quantities, and it also has insulation.
BG8KUQ Could it be that the attenuator is flooded? When my GP4's attenuator was flooded, its resonant point became unstable, and after two floods, I couldn't recover the resonant point. Replacing the ground network didn't help either. The only way to deal with it is to manually adjust it using a manual tuner.
