The reason I haven't confirmed it yet is..., because of personal reasons + I didn't register (I will definitely take the exam eventually).
Please correct me if any of the following information is incorrect. However, at least this is how I did it when I finished.
Why do you need an SWL identification number?
1. Unique.Previously, I often used names like "GVZ" or "SWL FROM OL62". However, this wasn't unique – the OL62 callsign was also used by other listeners. Even with six-digit system positioning, it could be interpreted similarly; and "GVZ" might easily be understood as a call sign suffix.
2. Effective. When registering on websites like eqsl or hrdlog, you will need to provide your call sign or identification number. As a receiving station, you can only use the identifier provided by SWARL.
3. Do I need to set up a ham radio station?
Depending on the situation:
It's necessary to have a console.
Both a ham license and a shortwave radio license are necessary. When participating in activities like those organized by the IOTA group, you will need to use your SWL call sign, not your own ham call sign.
[Additionally, why is SWL called SWL? Is it because it stands for "Short Wave Listener"?]
The B-class and C-class ham licenses for shortwave radio stations are available for those who want to obtain them.
Now, let's move on to the main topic.
First, open the URL. https://www.swarl.org/ Scroll to the bottom to see this "Get SWL Call Sign Now!" message, and simply fill it out like I did (this is for my mother's application).

First Name (can be an English name)
Last name
Operation Call Sign (optional)
Email (ensure it's not a temporary email address)
City (writing for a prefecture-level city)
State/Province
Country (select China)
All of the above content was entered in English and then "Preview Application" was clicked.

Please review the information you have entered to ensure there are no errors. Make any necessary corrections before submitting.

Seeing this image means you've succeeded! Just wait for up to three weeks, and your identification number will be ready!
In reality, my identification number arrived just eight days after I submitted the application.

That's all for now, 73!
