I've seen this measurement technique used many times before. In reality, when designing handheld antennas, the human hand is considered as part of the grounding system, so using a network to measure standing wave ratios is inaccurate... I previously saw someone on Bilibili using six walnut shells or old handhelds as part of their testing setup.
