Today, I went to the rooftop on the 34th floor and listened to shortwave radio with a DECENT PL-368 receiver. The reception was slightly better than when I was listening by the roadside. BPM was very clear, but when trying to listen to two-way communication on shortwave, I could sense that someone was speaking, but I couldn't understand what they were saying. There was quite a bit of "noise," and their voices were also quiet. (It felt like DX? Because I could vaguely hear a fiften.)
It seems like there are some differences between a receiver and a shortwave radio. Should I also get an SDR with full-band reception capabilities? Getting a shortwave radio feels risky, as my family might say that I'm wasting money, and I don't have any proof of purchase either, so it would be difficult to explain.
