1. Download the latest firmware: Yaesu released the latest firmware in August 2024, which are version 1.13 for the main firmware and version 1.02 for the sub-firmware. 3. Install the handheld radio USB driver: After opening the main firmware folder, double-click the main program and follow the prompts to install it.

With the main firmware upgrade complete at this point, I will now proceed with upgrading the sub-firmware.

6. Install the sub-firmware (approximately 90 seconds): First, press the small button that you just pushed up to go down.

The specific steps are:
Open Windows Security Center - Click on Device security - Click on Kernel Isolation details - Turn off the Memory integrity option. You will need to restart your computer after doing this.

After the firmware update, if you want to re-enable kernel protection, you also need to uninstall the previously installed Renesas drivers. There is a device with "Renesas" at the beginning in Device Manager; you can simply uninstall it. If the USB cable has already been disconnected at this point, you can click on the "View" menu in Device Manager and then open "Show hidden devices". This will allow you to see the Renesas devices that were previously hidden.
