I went out in the middle of the day to set up the equipment, and when I came back in the afternoon, the machine was still running smoothly at 20W (Of course, it's still recommended to add a stand and a small fan for added stability).
After a while of operation, the machine's temperature increased, and the power output decreased. The usual assumption is that a tube has failed, but it hasn't completely failed (it's normal for tubes to fail over time when the machine is idle). To repair this, you need at least a multimeter and an oscilloscope. You also need to consider other factors, such as whether the preamplifier has degraded or if a relay contact has oxidized.
If you don't have repair experience or don't want to deal with it yourself, I recommend sending it back for repair.
