The Chinese Amateur Radio Festival originated on May 5, 1940, when amateur radio enthusiasts across the country held a "virtual" conference via radio waves to demonstrate national unity and determination to resist aggression. This festival not only commemorates that historical period but also preserves the patriotic spirit of amateur radio enthusiasts.

☛On May 5, 2024, the outdoor communication event to commemorate the Chinese Amateur Radio Festival (also known as "Wǔ Wǔ Jié"), organized by the BD3OOX team under the leadership of the Hebei Province Wireless Telegraph Society's Amateur Radio Division, was held as scheduled. The event attracted numerous radio enthusiasts and members of the public, with the aim of commemorating the outstanding contributions made by amateur radio enthusiasts during the Anti-Japanese War and showcasing the application and development of radio technology in modern society.
☛ At 10:00 AM, under the leadership of the association, the outdoor communication activities were carried out sequentially, including a wireless equipment exhibition, rapid deployment of wireless equipment, on-site communication operations, exchange of wireless technology, astronomical observation, and introduction to the new version. <Amateur Radio Regulations> including legal awareness campaigns, etc.
☛ Participants gained hands-on experience with wireless equipment, experiencing the joys of radio communication and deepening their understanding of radio technology and its role in history. The study of technical knowledge such as space physics and astronomical observation was strongly supported by the Hebei Astronomical Association, the Hebei Mobile Science Museum, and the Hebei Exploration Science and Technology Research Center. Experienced radio enthusiasts shared how to use solar activity predictions to optimize radio communication strategies, enhancing public awareness of the relationship between the universe and radio transmission.
☛ This event featured a variety of formats, with several amateur radio enthusiasts setting up their shortwave communication stations and conducting Morse code and FT8 data communications.
☛ An experienced amateur radio enthusiast engaged in an in-depth technical exchange with newcomers, sharing not only radio operating techniques and experience but also guiding new enthusiasts on how to learn about radio knowledge, obtain operating certificates, and acquire a radio license.
☛ Through this event, not only was public awareness of radio technology increased, but the importance of radio technology to the general public was also highlighted. Furthermore, the event showcased the positive and responsible attitude of radio enthusiasts towards society.
☛ SRAC stated that it will continue to hold similar events to promote the development of wireless technology in Shijiazhuang, cultivate more enthusiasts, and provide a platform for enthusiasts to communicate and learn. It aims to inspire the next generation of enthusiasts to further develop this field and make new, greater contributions to national technological progress and social development.
