The reason was that I lived in an old courtyard (all reinforced concrete buildings), with high-rise buildings blocking the signal, resulting in a low signal strength (three stories). The only radios I had were UV-K6 and TG-K10AT, making it impossible to communicate with repeaters within the neighborhood (the closest repeater was about 10 kilometers away). After being persuaded by several teachers in the group, I started researching DIY antennas. The older members of the group recommended Moxon and Cju antenna designs, even downloading calculation software. Eventually, while searching online, I found a post:
