I also received information about the lightning protection system. My understanding is that, because the lightning protection system for my building's roof is connected to the entire roof railing and the steel reinforcement inside the building, if it were struck by lightning, the voltage would flow to the point with the lowest resistance, which is the ground connection at the bottom of the building. The outer layer of the feeder cable has some insulating properties; as long as it's not directly struck by lightning on the grounding wire, there shouldn't be a problem! Also, I disconnect the feeder cable during rainy days and throw it out the window.
