As described in the title, some older radios require you to press and hold the PTT button for 1 second before speaking after applying the Gaia audio, otherwise, if you speak while holding the PTT button, you will experience garbled speech.
Currently, the older Qiansheng UV2, K4AT, and Motorola GM300/GM3188 models have exhibited this issue. The genuine Baofeng UV-5R appears to be a better option.
