I used to own an XieGu XPA125B. Let me talk about this amplifier. I just got my B-class license a few years ago, and before getting the operating license, I bought an X6100 and a 125b. My thinking was that getting a license for a 100W radio from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology would delay the date when I could take the C-class exam and set up my station. At that time, it wasn't possible to get a 100W radio in our province and operate at 15W. So, I got the X6100 and the XPA125B. Shortly after setting up my station, I participated in the 55-hour communication event. The X6100 with the amplifier and the X6100 QRP were completely different! With the amplifier, you could basically communicate on any frequency. During the 55-hour event, I shone brightly! This is something that the dx10's built-in antenna couldn't do. The dx10's antenna would stop working if the VSWR was above 4:1. So, I have to give XieGu a big thumbs up! Now, let's talk about the disadvantages of the X6100 with the amplifier. It really is inconvenient to carry around: A lot of cables make it feel like you're carrying a whole 100W radio. In summary, I think my choice was right. I had a lot of fun using the X6100 QRP on its own, and the amplifier made the communication events even more enjoyable. If you have enough money, just buy it! You won't be disappointed. If you have a limited budget, just buy a 100W radio and you'll save money in the long run. Also, after setting up my station for 20 months, I successfully obtained my C-class operating license.
