BG2ELG Both the GP and the ZV are quite portable, and there are also some Yagi antennas that can be quickly set up. Personally, I use the MA-12 and JPC-7 handhelds. If you need to mount them on a mast, make sure to secure them with guy wires. The feed line can be 50-3; the loss for short waves is relatively small compared to UV. You typically need to make your own connection for the power cord. If you don't mind the weight, I recommend buying a car emergency power supply (the large metal box type).

Regarding feed lines, most ham radio operators typically require a length of 10-15 meters. For shortwave communication, you can purchase silver-plated 50-5 meter feed lines. If you are using it in your car, buying 50-5 meter feed lines will definitely provide better results and won't be as expensive as the silver-plated ones.
