I recently acquired a new operating license and decided to try setting up my own antenna system. I used an FTM-500DR with a 5D2MR feedline, and placed a 760H antenna on the right side of the rear door, approximately 10cm above the roof. When measuring, I observed a standing wave of 2.19 in the 435 MHz band, which was similar to the standing wave in the V band. I had anticipated this because the antenna is relatively close to the vehicle body and also close to the metal car frame. Later, while experimenting, I thought about moving the antenna. However, it turned out that all the wires were damaged, making it too difficult to replace them. So, I installed a second antenna, placing it near the A-pillar in the driver's seat. Using a switch, I switched between the front and rear antennas. After installation, I tested both antennas and found that the standing waves in the 435 MHz band were around 1.25, while the V band was still around 2. The standing wave meter is connected between the antenna and the switch. Could it be that the switch actually improves the standing wave in the 435 MHz band? Or could there be a problem with my measurement method? Would someone be able to analyze this for me?
