First, if you are on the roof and there is no obstruction below, you can choose to use a GP antenna. This is an economical option that doesn't cost much. If the ground wave will be obstructed, then you should choose a portable vertical dipole antenna, which transmits via skywave. If the distance between your roof and the opposite building is 20 meters or 40 meters, or if you can extend a wire from the opposite building to your roof, you can use a feed-line antenna. Of course, if you can permanently install an antenna on your roof, I recommend a low-cost four-band shortwave antenna. The middle cost is a vertical 750, and the high cost is an eight-pole Yagi antenna installed on a steel tower!
