BG2KUJ As the title suggests, I was previously just randomly listening on the 50-54 MHz band without ever hearing any specific information. I'm hoping to find out if there are any commonly used frequencies in this band for voice communication that I could use to simplify things.

Jason BG2KUJ Let's try listening on 50.110 MHz using USB, and see if we can detect any propagation. It should be the propagation season next month, and we are occasionally picking up signals now. Last year, FT8 made contact with many JA stations.
BI1MMP ChatGPT says there are more... 50.100 CW 50.150 FM 50.323 International FT8 However, I have only received a signal from 50.313 so far.
BG2KUJ Each time I'm about to pack up and leave, I switch over to 50 MHz to listen for a while, but it has been like searching for a needle in a haystack so far, and this segment seems particularly dependent on luck. Next time, I will try FM on 50.150 MHz.
BG2KUJ Thank you everyone. Personally, I prefer voice-mode SSB or FM; either will work for me. I'll start with the voice mode on the W6XKI first, and if that doesn't work, I'll try other modes.
bg7xwf 50.313 is a common FT8 frequency, and you can use it to make SSB calls when propagation conditions are favorable.
