BG8LUZ The original poster mentioned experiencing echo from the repeater, which shouldn't be a problem if it's not transmitting at a frequency that causes interference. When I was testing the UV-5R directly with my YAESU FT-4XR, I observed a close-proximity overload situation, but normal voice transmission should still work.
Perhaps the MIC is faulty.
