I bought the UV5R about a year ago, and only used it for receiving until recently. I've started transmitting, but when I transmit on a specific frequency mode, the receiver doesn't pick up any signal or sound, while the transmitter does. Conversely, when the 5R transmits, the receiver picks up sound. This seems to be related to the lack of sub-audible frequencies.
The same issue occurs when using the repeater: the 5R transmits and receives a repeater response, but other receivers don't pick up any sound. Also, after setting the Roger beep, there's a high probability that it will cut out with a buzzing or electrical noise, and this is more noticeable at lower volumes. Is this a malfunction? Does it need repair?
