Compared to last year's CQWW, the only change was increasing the power output to 100W. I originally planned to spend a week before the competition visiting and familiarizing myself with the equipment at different locations, but on Saturday of the first weekend, it rained in Zone 1, so the plan failed.
The weather on Saturday was clear but windy.💨The misjudgment resulted in a penalty call early in the game, and the player also seemed to be affected by it.
During CQWW, there was no assistance; this competition was the first time using the DX Cluster. It's truly convenient – you just focus on where you can make contact… However, the assistance is only assistance; you shouldn’t rely entirely on spot information. Cutting to a specific frequency might mean that someone else has already taken it, or you might not be able to receive anything at all.
I scanned the street for a while and noticed that there were some long blank segments on the spectrum chart. Then I realized that some channels weren't being transmitted. I had to go back to the spectrum and then find the channels in the gaps on the spectrum chart.
On Sunday morning, while working with QBG, I swapped positions 10x and 14x.End the match early. I was just sweeping the streets until about 4 PM, and then started looking for a place to set up my stall, but there weren't many good spots available. After half an hour of trying, I only managed to make 3 QSOs, and the battery ran out completely, so I had to give up. It was really frustrating, as I had already qualified for the finals.
The 30Ah battery is also completely depleted, and I never thought about this before using QRP.
Summary
This time, I'm focusing on sweeping. In fact, setting up a stall would be better, as large-scale operations are generally accessible to everyone. However, if I were to set up a stall, I would also need to consider the issue of electricity supply.
