BG4ILW Could you try changing the Passthrough settings? This option allows the YSF gateway to ignore the Wires-X control signals and instead pass them on to the next level YSF server. Therefore, when the YSF server is running YSF2DMR, using Wires-X commands to modify the server's signals will be received by the YSF2DMR server, which will then rewrite them as DMR group switching signals.
Regarding the ID issue, the YSF/D-Star system, designed specifically for amateur use, has each room/repeater (corresponding to a BM talk group) as its own individual server. These servers are all set up by one or more HAMs themselves. Each server is assigned an ID. This server ID is unrelated to the BM talk group ID; however, the IDs used in YSF are 5 digits long, which can lead to confusion with BM talk groups. Unlike D-Star repeaters, which have lettered IDs, this prevents confusion with DMR groups. (The reason YSF uses 5-digit numbers is because the official Yaesu Wires-X network also uses 5-digit IDs. The Wires-X network uses 5-digit IDs because it was originally a analog network called Wires-II, and to provide compatibility for users still using analog mode, it can only use DTMF signaling to control which talk group room to join.)
However, DMR was not designed with amateur users in mind, so the structure of the DMR BM network and that of YSF/D-Star (an amateur mode) are completely different. It was created internally by Motorola using its own code, and amateur users only have the power to manage it. Outsiders know that all the BM servers form a whole, and anyone can join any conversation group they choose, regardless of which server they connect to. This is similar to using a phone; once you dial, you're connected.
IDs like 00185 or 63306 are YSF server IDs. However, this particular server has been configured with a fixed YSF2DMR converter that connects to a specific BM talk group. Therefore, others don't need to set up any YSF2DMR; they can simply connect to this server and communicate directly with the BM talk group.
Regarding the YSF2DMR, it is a special YSF server because YSF DN and DMR use the same encoding format. Therefore, it directly sets up this special YSF server inside the box to convert the received YSF data into DMR data. The necessary settings are essentially those for DMR. The only relevant setting is to configure the YSF gateway's server to be the special server within the box, and to enable Passthrough (also known as direct connection) to avoid the YSF gateway responding autonomously to WireX signaling, which could disconnect it from the YSF2DMR server.
