Because the local repeater is located far from other busy repeaters, I have now installed a vehicle-mounted whip antenna and a 6-element Yagi antenna. The whip connects to the local repeater, while the Yagi connects to distant repeaters. Switching antennas during communication can be inconvenient, so I saw a Diamond model with a 1:2 antenna switch and was wondering how it performs in the UV band. Are there any other alternatives? After all, a single Diamond antenna switch is almost as expensive as my handheld transceiver plus two antennas.
