The IC-705 is a good radio. However, using a new B on the amateur bands is against regulations, and getting an A license first before using it is perfectly acceptable. As for antennas, you could use a full-band DP antenna from Gismo, or Diamond's RHM full-band antenna. If you plan to work satellites, you will need a Yagi antenna.
