I used to have a toy walkie-talkie when I was younger, and I still remember it.
I first encountered real two-way radios around 2013, which was a V-band handheld from North Peak (later learned that it wasn't for amateur radio use). It was a gift from my classmate. I didn't use it much after getting it, and perhaps this is when the seed of interest in radio was planted. Later, I researched related knowledge, and shortly thereafter, I bought a large Kington KG-UV45 on 58 Tongcheng. This was my first real amateur radio handheld, and I began to learn about radio gradually. I learned how to register for exams and obtain a callsign, and in 2014, I passed the exam and obtained a callsign. Afterwards, I enthusiastically used various callsigns on the direct-frequency repeater. At that time, there was no WeChat, so I met several interesting people on the repeater and formed a QQ group. More and more people joined, and the repeater was very lively at that time. I also learned a lot of knowledge, expanded my network, often went out to set up antennas and have gatherings, and bought various things at home, made my own antenna cables, measured data, etc. That's all for now.
