I recently activated two parks, which has further increased my interest in POTA. I have a question that I'd like to discuss: My understanding is that to successfully activate a park, the activator must maintain contact (CQ) until they have received confirmation from at least 10 other hunters. However, I'm not sure if this is correct.
For example, if eight people respond to me and I also reply to them twice, totaling ten confirmations, would that still be considered a failed activation?😂😂I personally prefer the CW mode, but simply initiating a call and waiting for at least 10 responses takes over an hour, which can be tiring. Furthermore, the fewer responses I receive tend to come from JA (Japan Association) hunters, who are generally very active (around 80%). However, I still find the process enjoyable.😆Using the IC-705 radio with a remote antenna, I've currently achieved the longest distances to stations in Australia and Canada. However, I plan to incorporate some FT8 operation in the future.😀
