Personally, I recommend focusing your efforts on antenna placement and selection/design. This is a more efficient approach. Many people use a simple end-fed antenna with a 7300 or FTDX10, which can feel like riding Guan Yu on a horse... At the very least, use a proper vertical or GP antenna. If you don't have space, using a portable setup will get you more contacts in a day than a week of stationary operation.
