It was my first time receiving a call, and I was so nervous. My hearing wasn't great, and I couldn't make out the other person's call sign. It was awkward, and even when a helpful third party (Ham) tried to help, we still couldn't figure it out. Haha!

You can find some nearby friendly stations by actively using common local frequencies (e.g., 438.500 in area 1). Additionally, you'll often encounter familiar "old jokes" on commonly used frequencies. Once you understand these, you can quickly communicate with other friendly stations on the 2.4G/5G frequency.
Try bringing a handheld radio and a slightly better antenna when you're hiking. This will give you a good DX opportunity, where a 5-watt handheld at 1000 meters can easily achieve FM direct mode DX over 250 km+. And if you find a great DX location during the weekend afternoon, you might be able to control the QSO, and if you need to record QSOs, consider using the vls logger/hamrs apps (I recommend the latter, but it's paid).

You might think that your radio doesn't have APRS functionality, but that's not a problem. The modulation function of APRS can currently be implemented using a software modem. You can use the sound modem from uz7HO (uz7.ho.ua/packetradio.htm) to implement this function, and then connect your computer's audio input and output to the radio's output and input. This will give you a very simple APRS device. In addition, the most commonly used frequency for APRS in China is 144.640 MHz, but there are also differences depending on the country and region (www.aprs.org). If you are located near the coast, you may be able to achieve good DX results by receiving Japanese or Korean APRS signals.
APRS can also be forwarded through ISS, which allows for greater DX (long-distance communication).
6 meters（50M）This is a neglected band, and even most A-class operators are unaware of it. After obtaining a B-class license six months later, they directly enter the HF field and look down on the 6-meter band. As the saying goes: "A-class operators don't understand it, and B-class operators can't afford to ignore it." However, the 6-meter band is a very interesting band (at least in my opinion, more interesting than HF). The propagation season is short, typically from March to July for one region. Otherwise, even if you open it up, it's only for a few minutes or tens of minutes. Opportunities on the 6-meter band are fleeting, and you have to wait several days if you miss them. If you are an A-class operator who plans to enter the HF field, you can use this "gap" to practice on the 6-meter band. There are at least 3000 kilometers of DX stations on the 6-meter band. During your communication on the 6-meter band, you can learn a lot of knowledge similar to or even more than HF communication, and you will learn how to use shortwave radios, which is very helpful for your subsequent B-class license exam. In addition, the antennas on the 6-meter band are also very simple; a quarter-wavelength GP is only about 1.4 meters long. If you have the conditions, using a GP fishing method in this summer can easily allow you to communicate with JA stations via FT8. Furthermore, an SSB radio is essential. If you are considering entering HF, most modern shortwave radios are HF+50M, so buy one early and enjoy it. (As a side note, don't expect too much from SSB in the city; just be happy with FT8).
